Evans, who played Captain America in Marvel's massive superhero movies for nearly a decade, takes the baton from another Avenger, Paul Rudd.

For the magazine's cover story, which appears on newsstands on Friday, he said, "My mom will be really delighted."

He also knows that he is likely to be teased by his close friends. "Actually it would just be a point of bullying," he joked in an interview. "It's ripe for harassment."
