Alec Baldwin Sues To 'Clear His Name' Over Movie Set Killing

Alec Baldwin sued the people who handled and provided the loaded rifle he was using when he opened fire in New Mexico on Friday, claiming he wants to clear his name.

 Cinematographer Halyana Hutchins passed away in a 2021 filming accident.

Baldwin filed a cross-complaint in Superior Court in Los Angeles, accusing some of the plaintiffs of carelessness on the part of script editor Mamie Mitchell.

 It demands, among other things, that anyone going by the name of Michelle Baldwin pay for any damages that may be awarded against her.

On October 21, 2021, Hutchins was put up for a scene in the western film "Rust" at a set ranch outside of Santa Fe.

 Mitchell was standing behind Hutchins, who passed away shortly after being hurt.

Mitchell filed a lawsuit for assault and negligence against Baldwin, who served as a producer on the movie, the production firm, and numerous other parties.

Baldwin claims in his cross-complaint that when he and Hutchins were rehearsing a scenario, they were discussing camera angles,

He drew back, released the hammer of the gun, and pointed it in her direction. The gun then went off.

Hutchins was mortally hit by the bullet, while director Joel Souza was injured in the shoulder.
